In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark to explore the west side to determine exactly what was obtained in the Louisiana Purchase. Jefferson wanted them to map a new route to the Pacific. On their journey, they met unknown people and traveled to unknown land through good and bad weather. After over two years of exploring they came back with new discoveries and many stories to tell. Lewis and Clark were one of the first to explore the west side.
